Saffron AI
Added Oct 20, 2026
Saffron AI estimates calories and macros from a photo, a spoken description, or typed text, in Arabic or English. The App Store listing says it is built for Middle Eastern plates as well as everything else, and that you can edit each ingredient. It also describes a meal plan, a diary, and workout logging that can raise the day's calorie goal. The company says the figures are estimates, not medical advice.
- Price
- Paid. The US App Store says scanning by photo, voice, or text is part of Saffron AI Pro or its free trial. Pro is $89.99 for 12 months, with a 1-week trial, and the in-app list also shows a monthly plan at $12.99. The site says a web subscription is the same product at a lower price, and it does not print that web number. No Android app yet, on the company's own FAQ.

Where it fits
- Nutrition and meal planning · rank 09
The listing says it builds a meal plan around your kitchen. Eat This Much is still the planner that shows a weekly price and a grocery list.
- Calorie and macro tracking · rank 14
A photo logger with a published year price, built for plates the big databases miss. SnapCalorie is the one that says the photo log stays free.

Pros
- The year price and the one-week trial are written in the App Store description, not only in a checkout sheet.
- You can correct an ingredient. The listing treats that as part of the product.
- Arabic and English, including voice, which most calorie apps in this directory do not offer.
Cons
- The scan is the paid feature. There is no free photo log after the trial, on the listing.
- iPhone only. The site says Android is not out.
- The web price is described as lower, and the page does not show the figure.
